What is ⚙️gears ?.. 

Gear is a toothed wheel which is used to

transmit constant velocity ratio. Between 

two shafts which has small distance between their axis of rotation. 

Types of ⚙️gears

According to their axis of rotation

(a) Axis of  rotation parallel to each other

1 spur gear

Tooth is parallel to there

 axis of shaf

2 . Helical ⚙️gears? 

Tooth is included at an angle 

with respect to their shaft axis. 

There is a drawback that axial

 force come at Axis of shaft. 

But running is very smooth

3.Double helical⚙️ gears or 

haringbone ⚙️gears

 Tooth are inclined both sides 

 at an angle 

Which is known as helix angle 

So axial force is avoided in this 

type gearing

(b) axis of rotation perpendicular 

     to each other and intersecting

1.bevel ⚙️gears

They transmits constant velocity ratio 

At 90° to each other

They can transfer constant 

velocity ratio at

Axactly  90 ° or less than

 90° or greater than 90°

(C) neither at parallel 

nor interesting

1 spiral ⚙️gears

2 hypoid ⚙️gears

3 worm and worm wheel 

4 rack and pinion
